01 DECEMBER 2021 – TILL DATE INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT ONLINE KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY

  • Conducted 5 baths training (Volunteerism: History, Culture, Skills and Dynamics, Social Action Plan, Natural Resource Management, Community Mobilization and Advocacy) of different organizations.
  • Conducted Baseline Study on project to increase income of entrepreneurs by buffalo production in coastal chars (Hatia and Nijhum Dip).
  • Developed Financial Guidelines and Financial Management of Community Radio’s in Bangladesh, BNNRC.
  • Prepared issue base news compilation and fact sheets of different issues regularly.
  • Facilitated online campaign voluntarily on climate change, climate finance though preparing fact sheet, email update, blog and social media posts.

Institution Building

  • Formulated of Constitution, Financial Policy, Human Resource Policy, Administrative Policy and gets approval from Executive Council and General Council of the institution.
  • Formulated Strategic Plan (2013-2018) with General Council and gets approval from Executive Council of the institution.
  • Formulated of different policies like gender and social inclusion policy, partnership policy, Staff Management Policy and gets approval from Executive Council of the institution.
  • Registered the institution with social welfare department and managed the legal affairs.
  • Arranged, managed and supported the Executive Council and General Council Meeting timely.

Programme, Projects and Personnel Management

  • Managed programme and projects (three projects – Comprehensive Agricultural Reform Programme, Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism – CFTM and Climate Governance – Local Adaptation Plan of Action) and implemented properly with secretariat staffs and local partners.
  • Managed day to day work (Administrative, personnel, communication, financial and asset management) of the institution.
  • Established 3 civic networks at Shyamnagar, Koyra and Sadar, Gaibandha and capacitated them to monitor climate impacts at their local level and to mobilize local people, public administration and policy makers for sustainable solution. 
  • Built capacities of human resources and local partners on programme and projects implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning, financial management through mentoring, one to one meeting and formal training.

Research, Policy and Advocacy

  • Facilitated conduction of research on Disaster Management, Compressive Agricultural Reforms Programme; situation of embankment in Gaibandha, Koya and Shyamnagar Upazila’s; embankment management involving government institutions.
  • Facilitated study on assessing the Gaps in policies and practices to protecting climate vulnerable at three districts (Satkhira, Khulna and Gaibandha) in Bangladesh.
  • Conducted research on Local Adaptation Plan of Action – LAPA for Shyamnagar, Koyra and Sadar, Gaibandha Upazila.
  • Developed policy paper on agriculture, climate change and trade issues based on context and political economy analysis and updated these regularly.
  • Facilitated campaign, advocacy and lobby activities e.g. Disaster Management Act, Compressive Agrarian Reforms of Agriculture, Climate Change – Adaptation, Mitigation, Climate Finance, Climate Governance and Climate Migration, Sustainable Embankment involving Local Government Institution, Climate Disasters – Agriculture, Water sectors etc.
  • Supported to local civic network to conduct social audit, develop youth volunteers; organize climate week and climate fair, local level consultation on climate finance and climate governance.

  • Capacitated 50,000 cells to facilitate labour rights campaign, particularly working women rights.
  • Conducted 3 researches on situation of labour rights in Bangladesh in formal sector, informal sector and agricultural sector.

  • Worked with Thana Functional Improvement Project (Supported by European Union) of Government of Bangladesh and analyzed the collected data with SPSS and extended support to lead researcher to prepare research report.
